This is the third time I've replaced this part. The very bottom L keeps cracking. The piece right next to the pump.

Our baby is five months old, we've been through four Y connectors now. We treat them like delicate flowers, but they still crack.

Treat the tube right! 03/12/2009

This is a great piece to the pump. If u have a breast that supplies less, use the tie off tube on that side. And, when detaching the tube, always pinch it right where it connects to the shield or stick your fingernail there and break the connection. This should avoid any tears!

I have read all of the reviews that the other users posted and I don't thing the part is all that bad. When I originally started using the pump I had the same issue, this part broke and I was upset. They do give you a rather long of piece of tubing, so you can just cut the tubing yourself to fix it. I then stopped removing it from where it attaches to the pump and it has not broken again since, so my advice is to just leave it attached to the pump and it will be fine, and if it does break, simply cut it yourself to repair it.

I had the same problem as everyone else--the connector for the tubing broke after a couple of uses. I like the pump otherwise, but this piece is definitely poorly designed!
